Default Using a bite tug as a reward for obedience

My question is in regards to a tug as a reward for obedience, my understanding is that it maybe a negative thing to allow the dog to win the tug from the handler as this my erode the handlers standing as alpha

So my question is, is this true in any way, should I allow the dog to win the tug, or should I out the dog to end his reward time

Regards Vincent

Michael Ellis or Ivan Balabanov have developed some excellent tug play systems... look either or both of them up, I use Michael's system...

if you teach it correctly when the dog 'wins' the tug it is encouraged to bring it straight back to the handler to re-initiate the game, instead of being allowed to have it and run around with it - it's far more fun to be with the handler... so no, it doesn't erode the sense of alpha at all...

edit: just re-read (gee i am good at missing stuff the first time :/ ) to END the play session yes, you should out your dog and take the tug away...
