In training obedience and behavior the most important thing for the dog to progress is choice. The dog must be allowed make a choice, and realize whether it's the right or wrong one. At that moment is when the best kind of learning takes place. The trainer's job is to make the right choice the most obvious, and to apply just the right amount of pressure to move the dog towards that choice.
