There is a book on Amazon that should be only about Obedience training for Kohler.

Thread moved to the KMODT section.

The book The Koehler Method of Guard Dog Training contains in it's second half the book The Koehler Method of Dog Training. There is no difference between the guard dog book obedience section and the stand alone obedience book.

I was surprised to see it on Amazon for $40, when I got my first Koehler book it was still in the book stores and very cheap. I guess it's on its way to becoming a rare book.

There are also by Koehler:
The Koehler Method of Open Obedience.
The Koehler Method of Utility Dog Training.
The Koehler Method of Training Tracking Dogs.

Vincent, you are fortunate to have taken this course of action. Koehler was ahead of his time and continues to be ahead of our time. With that said KMODT is not a cook book for obedient dogs, sometimes adjustments are necessary, but the principles of KMODT are unfailing.

I hope this answers your question, I don't know what other issues you may have with the guard dog book? known affectionately as the red book.

Thanks! A photo from last week's training day. I like it because I don't look like a doof.

I know it is so expensive now...last time I looked it up awhile ago it was like $20.

I haven't read any of the books but I knew that he had one that focused on just obedience and not the guard work.

thanks dan

the red book i downloaded had a lot of redundancies and jumbled print so i wanted a nice paper book to study, before i read your post i found and ordered

1. The Koehler Method of Open Obedience for Ring, Home and Field, - 1 @ $9.66
2. The Koehler Method of Utility Dog Training - 1 @ $13.93

on a used book web site, its sad these books are going out of style this form of training is so applicable to ppk9s its a shame that some people will miss out on this info

It's a shame for dogs. So many end up dead in shelters because the cookie pushers who are in the majority made it a cultural taboo to approach problem behavior correction with KMODT or similar style training.
