I'm not sure what you mean by public forum. This forum can be viewed online by anyone with the exception of the "juicy" sections, to see those you have to be a registered member. Anyone can register but not all will be accepted, and further more can be accepted and then rejected based on their participation. There is no implied or intended obligation to "the public".

Unlike most other forums the basis for PDF is not financial gain. We all have one or two friends who understand our need or purpose with our dogs and have some experience, they're the ones we turn to when we need advice or simply to put things in perspective. Do we feel the need to have 100 such friends? I don't care if PDF membership stays small as long as the caliber of participants is high. Why oh why would I do something like that

I've said this before, for the most part it's not the exercises of the protection dog sports that I have a problem with, it's the training approach. Although sometimes I also have a problem with what the decoy is allowed to do. But all that is another discussion. I just want to figure out what to do with new members who don't demonstrate an interest in PD. I do not enjoy asking people to leave.
i know how other forums go and im not here to raise hell and show my ass. just like strictly personal protection dog people get offended by strictly sport dog people and vise versa, im offended both ways because i want a dog that is going to back my ass up in a fight and score high in a trial. the sport part for me comes from being a competative person.

i know what you mean when you say what the helpers are "allowed to do" and i totally agree. you've metioned in other posts that you want this forum to be a safe place for members to post and be politely critiqued on there training and methods. i would like to feel that because you have obviously accepted protection dog sports on this forum that sport folks should be happily accepted to the forum and keep there posts in the proper sections and not be shitty in others for what other members do with there dogs. we might not all agree on the everything which is normal for any kind of activity that a person may participate in but also like you mentioned before, keep in civil and not like the kind dureing aggitaion work...
